Well, it's probably far less scary than you think. Unfortunately hypnotherapy is often misunderstood - usually due to stage hypnosis or how it's portrayed in movies. To describe it in basic terms, hypnotherapy is simply meditation with a goal and it can be an incredibly effective and efficient way to make changes in your life.
Hypnotherapy is a natural state of heightened awareness and is used to work with a person's unconscious mind - this is where we store all of our memories, habits, experiences and automatic functions. By working with this part of the mind, you’re more easily able to access and use resources within yourself to change the way you think or behave. You're in control during the process and can't ever be made to do or say anything that you don't want to.
How can it help me?
You've probably heard of someone who has been to a hypnotherapist to stop smoking or to get over a fear of flying, but there are also many other things it can help with: Sleep issues, stress and anxiety, sports performance, self confidence, weight loss, habit change and relaxation.
